Tinning smothered her 3 1/2-month-old daughter in 1985. Though she confessed to also killing two of her sons, she is suspected in the death of all eight of her other children, who originally had been thought to have died of natural causes, dating to 1972. All of Tinning's children died before their fifth birthday. Tinning, now 59, is serving a 20-year prison sentence.
Susan Leigh Vaughan Smith (born September 26, 1971) is an American woman sentenced to life in prison for murdering her children. Born in Union, South Carolina, and a former student of the University of South Carolina Union, she was convicted on July 22, 1995 for murdering her two sons, 3-year-old Michael Daniel Smith, born October 10, 1991, and 14-month-old Alexander Tyler Smith, born August 5, 1993.
The case gained worldwide attention shortly after it developed, due to her claiming that a black man stole her car and kidnapped her sons. She later claimed that she suffered from mental health issues that impaired her judgment.
According to the South Carolina Department of Corrections, Smith will be eligible for parole on November 4, 2024, after serving a minimum of thirty years. She is currently incarcerated at South Carolina's Leath Correctional Institution, near Greenwood.
Gwendolyn Graham & Catherine May Wood (1987) were a 24-year old and 25-year old lesbian couple from Grand Rapids, Michigan who achieved sexual thrills in killing 5 elderly female patients at the nursing home they worked at. They would smother their victims together and make love shortly thereafter to relive the thrill and enhance their lovemaking. Wood was a massive 450-pound woman who intensely loved the more dominant and sexually experimentative Graham. When Graham left to take a new job in Texas, Wood broke down and confessed to authorities. Graham received a penalty of life imprisoment and Wood got 20 years in prison.
Aileen Carol Wuornos (February 29, 1956 – October 9, 2002) was an American serial killer who killed seven men in Florida in 1989 and 1990, claiming they raped or attempted to rape her while she was working as a prostitute. She was convicted and sentenced to death for six of the murders and executed by lethal injection on October 9, 2002.

A mother of three sons and three daughters, she wounded one daughter with a gun, and when the daughter wasn't dead after a few weeks, she tried to remove the bullet. The attempted surgery left the daughter near death. This kind mother put the other daugher in a closet and told the other children not to feed her. Eventually, the kid died and her remains were just dumped.
Another daughter was beaten to death, and the two corpses were taken up to the mountains and, with the help of her teenage sons, burned with a pile of trash. During her trial it came out that she was acquitted in the murder of her former husband years before. The last and youngest daughter was the one to finally get the authorities to investigate and believe what she was telling them, on her second attempt.
